Melanaphy, Pamela Jane (74) of Oklahoma City died December 14, 2020 in her home. “PJ” was born June 20, 1946 in Lynn, Massachusetts to John Joseph and Mary Jane Bartley. She grew up on Fellsmere Street in Lynn where she loved playing outside with neighborhood friends, playing pranks on her brothers, and dancing. She won several dance contests at school and even wore the finish from her bedroom floor practicing her dance moves. PJ graduated from Lynn English High School and went on to get her Associates degree from Burdett Business College. Se was proficient in shorthand and a successful secretary/administrative assistant for the FBI in Washington D.C. and Sears Roebuck in Oklahoma City. She retired from the Department of Human Services. She was passionate about animals and loved her dogs, Cotton, Sassy, and Chole like they were her children. She enjoyed movies, music, and spending time with friends. She loved playing bridge and held the title of Life Master with the American Contract Bridge League. She loved her family and was enormously proud of her grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. PJ is preceded in death by her infant son, grandparents, parents, and significant other Jim Roberts. She is survived by her brother Eric Bartley and family, brother Paul and Annette Bartley and family, daughter Tracy and Jason Blosser, and grandchildren Lauren and Aaron. In lieu of service, to honor her memory, donations can be made to the Oklahoma Humane Society or to the American Diabetes Association.
