Gahla R. Towery, 81, died at home surrounded by family in Edmond, Ok on Sunday, June 7, 2026. Gahla was born on September 2, 1944 in Electra Tx to Dewey Miller and Audie Lee Miller.

Gahla graduated from Harrold High School in 1962. In 1965 she graduated from Wichita General Hospital School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse. She worked as a Registered Nurse for 59 years. She also served as a 1st Lieutenant in the Air Force 1966 to 1969. She started the first chapter, in Oklahoma City, of the Red Hat Society known as The Hot Tomatoes in 2002. She served as Queen until June 7, 2026.

Preceded in death by Father Dewey Miller, Mother Audie Lee Miller and Sister Leaetta Urbina.

Survived by Sister LaRue Rainwater, Sister Raedean Owen and Brother Tim Miller. Daughter Teressa Gregory and Husband Perry Gregory. Granddaughter Kayla Taylor and Husband Jessie Wayne Taylor, Grandson Jesse Myers and 8 Great Grandchildren.



Private service with family will be held in Electra Tx on Wednesday June 24, 2026.
