Jonathan's Obituary
Hohmann Morris, Jonathan David, 18, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, passed away on April 28, 2026, in Oklahoma City.
Jonathan was born on May 25, 2007, in Oklahoma City to his father, John Hohmann, and his mother, Halley Morris. From an early age, Jonathan embraced life with energy, curiosity, and a deep appreciation for both physical strength and inner peace.
He was a graduate of Putnam City Original High School and continued his education at Oklahoma City Community College. Jonathan was passionate about health, fitness, and personal growth. He enjoyed fishing, and while wrestling and Muay Thai were a brief part of his young journey, he developed a meaningful commitment to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. He ultimately found a deeper sense of balance and purpose through swimming and yoga, earning his 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training Certification in 2023. In his free time, Jonathan loved going to the movies, taking drives by the lake, and spending time out on the water in his kayak, soaking up the sun. Music was a love language to him, and he was rarely without it. He was often on the phone with one of his friends, staying connected to the people who meant so much to him. He also loved his cats dearly, Iliza Kaye & Merlin Kaye, finding comfort and companionship with them.
Jonathan was a hardworking and driven young man. He worked at Peak Nutrition and served as a certified lifeguard at the YMCA. At the time of his passing, he was employed as a host/server at Tellers First National, where he brought his friendly and welcoming spirit to those he encountered.
Jonathan will be remembered for his hard work, his determination, his kind heart, and the way he connected with others. He lived with intention and continuously sought to better himself, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his aunt Brandice Semtner, Grandfather John Hohmann Sr, uncle Mike Harris, great-grandmother Dora Sheets, and his grandfather David Morris.
Jonathan is survived by his loving mother, Halley Morris, and stepfather, John Luhm; his father, John Hohmann; his sister, Kara Hohmann; his grandmother “Nanaw” Donna Morris; his grandmother, Susan Hohmann; and his cousin, Theresa Semtner, all of Oklahoma City, OK and his uncle Doni Harris of Grand Island, NE. He is also very lovingly remembered by his extended family, many friends, and a wide community of individuals whose lives were touched by his presence.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 8, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Demuth Funeral Home, 1145 W. Britton Road, Oklahoma City, OK 73114.
A memorial gathering to celebrate Jonathan’s life will follow at 5:00 PM at 4406 S. Lake Hefner Drive, Oklahoma City, OK (northeast of the boat ramps).
