James' Obituary

Albee, James Emery, 90, of Edmond died July 29
th, 2024, in Clayton Pond, Edmond Oklahoma surrounded by family, friends, loving caregivers, and compassionate hospice team. Born January 28th, 1934, in Fon Du Lac, Wisconsin to Emery Charles Albee and Dorothy Jean Albee.

James grew up on a farm in Wisconsin with his family and grandfather Bruce whom he loved. Growing up he worked in grocery stores, restaurants and hotels and loved meeting and helping people. James left to serve in the military. When he came home, he worked in Washington DC for Southwestern Bell and moved to Virginia where he worked for Merrill Lynch. He then moved his family to New Jersey where he took a corporate telecommunications manager position in New York City with Kerr McGee. After many years they transferred James to Oklahoma as telecommunications director where he retired from 40 years of service.

Jim absolutely loved music. He loved to cook and garden, was a poet and an artist, adored traveling to Hawaii and traveling the country in his RV. He enjoyed reading the newspaper and Max Lucado books in his chair, looked forward to visiting with friends and neighbors on his patio surrounded by his flowers, plants and beloved trees. Jim adored cats, watching birds, and all the wildlife in his backyard. Jim also gave out thousands of pocket angels to anyone and everyone over the last 30 years. He loved vintage music boxes and tattoos. He asked everyone he met the story about their tattoos.

James served four years in the navy as a med tech cleaning soldier’s teeth and early in his life aspired to be a dentist. He was a member of the 1st Christian Church in Edmond, OK and he was proud to serve on the board at Clayton Pond HOA.

James was proceeded in death by his mother, Dorothy Albee and his father, Emery Albee, his sister, Jackie Jean Strubhar, his wife of 38 years, Margie Evelyn Albee, and his wife of 24 years, Frances Albee.

James is survived by his children, Kimberly Kay Albee, Robin Ray Albee, Jamie Jill Albee and his two bonus daughters of 67 years Cheryl Rich and Penny Lynch and his youngest sister, Judy Ann Fleschner, grandchild Melissa Straub and great grandchild Easton Freer.

A Celebration of Life will be held at First Christian Church, Edmond, OK, Saturday, July 24th at 10am.

Interment at Memorial Park Cemetery will follow the service at 11:30am. Followed by a reception at James’ home in Edmond, OK.
