Jack's Obituary
Jack D. Boren went to his Lord and Savior on August 3, 2025, at age 97 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
He was born in Paoli, Oklahoma on October 20, 1927, the son of Sydney Boren and Mossie Strickland Boren. Jack graduated from high school in Paoli and then served the U.S. Air Force in the Pacific Theater at the end of World War II. Jack played baseball for the 5th Air Force in Japan in 1947 and 1948, and later served at Tinker Air Force Base,Oklahoma during the Korean War. He was a baseball letterman at East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma. He later graduated from Southwestern State University in Weatherford, Oklahoma.
Jack was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Helen Graham Boren. He is survived by two daughters, Jana Boren Anderson (Ron) of Moore, Oklahoma and Sara Boren Jandreau (Robert) of Oklahoma City, grandchildren Alyssa Hand Shavers (Conner), Jason Hand (Kailee), Jackson Jandreau, Bennett Jandreau, and Hope Jandreau Revard (Braydon), and five great-grandchildren.
Jack and Helen made their home in Ponca City Oklahoma for many years while she taught school and he was employed by Conoco, where he belonged to several professional organizations, as well as the American Legion Post #14. They were members of the Hartford Avenue Church of Christ. After they moved to Oklahoma City to be near their grandchildren they were members of the Memorial Road Church of Christ in Edmond, Oklahoma. Jack was an avid outdoorsman and sports enthusiast, with particular interest in fishing and Golf.
Jack will be cremated and buried in Paoli, Oklahoma. His request is that no formal memorial service be held. Instead, his wish is for everyone to do an act of kindness or take a friend to lunch in his memory. Memorial gifts may be made to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, at OMRF.org.
