Felicia's Obituary

Felicia Huetta (Arrington) Dancey, born July 17th 1926, went to meet her Heavenly Father on March 21st 2023. She was proceeded in death by her loving husband Floyd, favorite son (and only) Tim, beloved granddaughters Chelsea and Caitlin and was the last surviving member of 6 Arrington siblings. She is survived by daughters Cindy King and Susan Shisler and her husband Barry. Grandchildren Kristie and husband Don, Kori and husband Jarrett, TJ and husband Wes, Timmy, Courtney and husband Daniel. Great grandchildren Dacoda and Bobbi, Kyter, Adi, Avah, Trey, Taylin, Michael, Haylee, Landon, Brynlee, Noah, Tinslee. Great-Great Grandchildren Rugher and Emma. And many nieces, nephews, and extended family. Felicia was known by many names: Huetta, Flish, Sugar, Mother, Mamacita, Mini me, Nan, Nan Patrol, Nan Nan and of course the greatest mother of all times, by Tim. She came into this world in typical Nan fashion, in her own way and time being delivered at home by her father, Papa in Cooper Oklahoma. She attended a one room school house in Webb City and went on to graduate high school as Homecoming Queen from Shidler Oklahoma. She then moved to Wewoka where she worked as a switch board operator and met the love of her life Floyd, who she called Honey. Floyd and Flish were married on March 22, 1951 and built their life together in Oklahoma City where they raised their family. Cynthia Leigh (Cindy) was born followed by Timothy Floyd (Tim). Their serendipity baby Susan Leslie was born several years later and their family was complete. Felicia was a long-time member of Wilshire Church of Christ and devoted much of her time and love to her church family. She was a devoted mother who was patient and loving, creating a happy home with memories of homemade meals, except for Tim who mostly ate peanut butter and jelly. She was well-known for her homemade pie crust and most of her recipes are regularly shared throughout the generations of her family. She had a love for reading, instilled by her own mother. Her children, grandchildren, and great children have fond memories of her reading to them consistently and you could always find her book and readers on her nightstand. As much joy as she found being a mother, not much compared to her love of being a Nan. She was the most patient of grandmothers. She instilled her strong faith in her grandchildren, always making a point to pray for them and taking them to Rainbow Village at her church. Her grandchildren cherish memories of learning to cook in Nans kitchen, taking long walks through Edgemere Park, eating bologna sandwiches on the special white bread and sleeping in Nan and Poppy’s floor until they were teenagers. Speaking of teenagers, Nan gained the title “Nan Patrol” for her watchful eye during family trips to Lake Tenkiller. Felicia had a spunky spirit and was known to jitterbug on command. She was always dressed to the nines and had quite the collection of purses and shoes. She was a bright light in so many lives and will be missed terribly by her family, but we hold on to the hope of our faith that we will see her again someday. Until then, the best parts of her will live in each of us. A private family graveside service will be held at a later date.
