LaDena's Obituary

MILLS, LaDena Rose, age 91 of Oklahoma City passed away October 9^th, 2022, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Born on March 22, 1931, in Oklahoma City to Robert Keith Hinchey, Sr. and Susie Elnora Hinchey, LaDena graduated from Classen High School, attended Oklahoma State University, and became a lifelong fan of Cowboy football. In her early career she worked as a secretary for General Mills, later to enjoy working for BC Clark Jewelers, as a secretary for KLTE Radio station, and retired from American Fidelity Assurance Company. She was a devoted member of May Avenue United Methodist Church, now Cornerstone UMC for over 50 years. LaDena also attended New Covenant UMC in Edmond during the 1980’s. LaDena is survived by her husband of 57 years, George W. Mills, sister Sue Ellen Windsor, and five children, which were her “proudest moments”: Deborah & spouse Elliott (Bump) Wills, Diane Bruce, Duane & spouse Elizabeth Shriver, Owen & spouse Kathy Mills, and Melanie Mills. Caring for babies and toddlers was one of her truest joys in life and she was blessed with 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. LaDena was preceded in death by her parents and brother Robert Keith Hinchey, Jr. and sister Karen Eileen Dancey. Memorial service will be held on October 17, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. at Cornerstone UMC in Oklahoma City. The family would like to thank Integris Hospice House for the outstanding care they provided LaDena.
