Graham's Obituary

Born to Dr J.M. & Dorothy Danvers Robertson in Oklahoma City, OK on August 25, 1952.  Attended Harding High School until 1968, then Northeast High School, graduating in 1970.  Attended classes at OU and OSU-OKC.

Graham was hired by the Oklahoma City Police Department as a Community Service Officer in September 1970, beginning a life long career in Law Enforcement.  Became a Police Officer in September 1973.  Graham resigned from the Police Department in July 1974 and joined the US Army.  He was the Honor Graduate for the basic training cycle at Ft Polk, LA.  He was assigned to Ft Riley, KS as a Military Policeman.  Graham was the Honor Graduate of the Army MP Investigation School, Anniston, AL, and was assigned to the Panama Canal Zone as an MP Investigator, assigned to Task Force Victory, a narcotics unit of the CID Detachment. Graham received an Army Letter of Commendation for his work on the Task Force. He received an Honorable discharge in July 1977.  He joined the Oklahoma Army National guard, serving from 1997 - 1999. Graham returned to Oklahoma City and worked for Yukon and El Reno police departments before returning to OCPD in January 1980.

Graham met Linda Malone, the love of his life, in April 1979 and they were married in July 1980. She accompanied him to many pistol matches and air shows during their married life. When he became ill, she never left his side and provided every needed support for him. She was his rock, never wavering in her love and affection.

One of Graham’s favorite comments about Linda was a quote by Sir Winston Churchill.  “She was rash enough to marry me, patient enough to stay with me and loved me in a way I never expected to be loved.”

Graham was assigned to the Patrol Division in 1980. In 1993, he was assigned to the Detective Division, serving in the Sex Crimes Unit/Child Abuse Unit, White Collar Crime Unit, and the Burglary Unit, retiring in 2017, due to a diagnosis of lung cancer.  During his career at OCPD, he served on the Honor Guard, Tactical Team and Pistol Team.  He received two Life Saving Awards, three letters of Commendation and the Distinguished Service Award for actions immediately after and during the Murrah building response.

Graham joined the Confederate Air Force in 1991 and became a member of the Gulf Coast Wing (B-17 Texas Raiders) in Houston, TX and the Oklahoma Wing (PT-19) in OKC. He was elected Wing Leader of the Oklahoma Wing and served for five years. Graham became involved in the CAF national headquarters and was later elected to the CAF General Staff (National Board of Directors). He was also elected to the CAF Foundation Board of Directors, CAF Flying Museum Board of Directors and the CAF Museum Board of Directors.  He proudly served 20 years in the CAF and was privileged to meet and become friends with many of his WW II aviation heroes, including BG Paul Tibbets, Col Tex Hill, Col Joe Foss, General Charles Bond, and many others.  Graham began flight lessons in 1994 and logged air time in a PT-19/26, T-34, C-45, C-47 and a B-17 Flying Fortress bomber.

One of Graham's greatest interests was Oklahoma Sooner football. For many years, he attended nearly all of the home games at Norman with his friends Don Miller and Mark Howard. For away games, the three friends nearly always got together to watch the game at Graham and Linda's house or at Mark's.

Graham is survived by his wife, Linda, brothers Greg and Gordon (Terrye) Robertson sister Gayle (Steve) Jones, nephew and Partner Det Robbie (Kari) Robertson, Travis (Jamie) Robertson. He leaves behind nephew Stewart (April) Jones and niece Stephanie Windsor, several grand nephews and niece and many dear friends and brother officers.

Memorial services will be held at Demuth Funeral Home Chapel, 1145 W. Britton Rd, OKC at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, March 21, 2022. A reception will be held at 1503 Andover Ct in The Village following the service. In lieu of flowers, family is asking for donations to made to the American Cancer Society.
