Doug's Obituary

Doug was born and raised in Springfield, Missouri, where he grew up, went to high school, and eventually met Colleen Morelock. They were married in Ash Grove, Missouri on April 24th, 1976.
Doug is preceded in death by his parents, Ted & Juanita Smith of Springfield, Missouri, and by his mother and father in-law, Robert & Genalee Morelock, of Ash Grove, Missouri.

He is survived by his wife, Colleen Smith; daughters and sons-in-law Amber and Tim Brooks, Erica Smith, and Brittni and Glen Quintana; Grandchildren Ren, Britton, and Xavier Brooks; cousins Brenda Shepherd and Denny Mason; and sisters Sandy Dasal and Susan Moore.

Doug was a computer programmer for many years. At the time of his passing, he was an employee and manager at Hobby Lobby Corporate for 20 years, a job that he very much enjoyed, and was well-respected at.

Playing and being with his grandchildren and spending time with this family were his favorite things to do. He also loved St. Louis Cardinals baseball, visiting family in St. Louis, and going to the games whenever he could.

Doug was a loving and devoted husband, dedicated father, adoring and fun-loving Papa, and wonderful friend. He always helped anyone who needed it and was always there when called upon. He will be greatly missed by both his friends and his family.
The service for Doug will be held Saturday, March 11th, at 1:00pm at Demuth Funeral Home in Oklahoma City.
