Donald's Obituary

Donald Edward Ransford, of Bethany, OK went to be with the Lord on January 25, 2022. He was born in Wellington, Kansas on August 25, 1946 to William “Ed” and Nora Ransford. He had three sisters DeAnna, Rose, and Helen along with a brother, Jim. He graduated from Enid High school in 1964 after moving to Oklahoma as a child. 

He met the love of his life, Susan Shofner in 1974 in Oklahoma City. They married in 1975. While living in Wichita, Kansas for 2 years they had their only son, Jeremy. Wanting to be closer to family they decided to move to Bethany, Oklahoma in 1978. 

 Don was in the shoe business, working as manager of Streets Shoe Stores and Famous Footwears, for Brown Shoe Group Inc. He retired from Famous Footwear after working for 30 years in 2011. 

 Don in his spare time thoroughly enjoyed working on cars, lawn mowers, and helping others in the neighborhood. He had a love for classic cars and had his own El Camino and Corvette, still owning a Corvette to this day. 

He liked watching sports especially basketball, which he played in high school.  He loved to eat, spend time with family, and enjoyed life until his beloved Susan went home to be with her Lord in 2018. 

He was preceded in death by his parents Nora and Ed, his wife Susan, one brother Jim and two sisters Deanna and Rose. He is survived by one sister, Helen Isham and his son Jeremy, whom he dearly loved. Funeral service will be held at Clear Springs Free Will Baptist Church at 921 N Clear Springs Rd, Mustang, OK 73064 on February 8, 2022 at 2pm.
