Dale's Obituary


DAVID, Dale Earlene, 79, of Oklahoma City, OK went to be with her Lord and Savior July 5, 2023. She bravely fought a long hard battle with health issues and is now in the arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ. She was grateful for a life well lived and well loved. Dale was born on November 16, 1943, in Dallas, Texas to Peggy E. and Joseph David Mason, now deceased. She graduated from Southeast High School of Oklahoma City in 1962. Dale later attended Oklahoma Baptist University becoming a Licensed Nurse. She married David G. David on June 23, 1967 and they loved and enjoyed 56 wonderful years together. She had a deep devotion to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and was a member of Britton Christian Church for more than 45 years. John 3:16 and 2 Peter 3:8 were Bible verses that held special meaning for her life. Dale was very active with their two children, Darrell and DeeAnne while they were growing up. She was a tireless volunteer. Serving her children’s school PTA for many years and continuing her service at John Marshall High School, as they got older. She worked for four years volunteering as coach of the high school cheerleading squad. Dale volunteered as vice president and president of the John Marshall FFA chapter’s booster club for over five years. The time spent and acquaintances made opened doors for a second career for her. Dale worked for more than 4 years as John Marshall’s financial secretary and then moved to become the principal’s secretary at Hoover Middle School. Later, she became the first principal’s secretary at the new John Marshall High School in Oklahoma City. She retired as the principal’s secretary at Star Spencer High School. Dale was very active in many fraternal organizations. She was a 47-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Past Royal Matron, Order of the Amarath; Past Queen of Adoram Temple # 95 Daughters of the Nile, and Past First Lady of India Shrine Temple in Oklahoma City of Shriners International. She was an active member of Stillwater Assembly #124, Social Order of the Beauceant. Dale also served as Bethel Guardian of Bethel #2 in Oklahoma City of the International Order of Job’s Daughters, later becoming the Grand Guardian for the state of Oklahoma and continuing to volunteer on many other committees. Dale loved both dogs and cats and participating and supporting all of her four grandchildren’s activities. Yellow roses were her favorite flowers. However, any type of flowers always made her smile. She is survived by her husband, David G. David of the home; son Darrell J. David and wife Amy David of Goldsby, OK; daughter DeeAnne Henry and husband Dr. Glen Henry of Stillwater, OK; granddaughter Madison Ward and husband Bobby Ward of Washington, OK; granddaughter Abigail Henry of Dallas, Texas; grandson Joseph David of Goldsby, OK; granddaughter Caroline Henry of Stillwater, OK; niece Audra Main and husband Ron Main of Oklahoma City, OK; nephew Ralph deCardenas of Oklahoma City, OK; and many other cousins and friends. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday July 14, 2023, at Britton Christian Church.  Interment will be at Gore Cemetery, Gore OK.
