Carolyn's Obituary

Carolyn was the youngest of 5 children born to Marjorie (Dodd) Cassady and Tom Cassady and was a lifelong resident of Oklahoma City. After graduating from Northeast High School in 1952, she began her working career with Streets. She diligently worked her way up the fashion industry ladder, until she achieved the position of a Buyer for Streets Women’s wear, which she held until retiring.

As a faithful member of Church of the Servant, she attended Prime Time for Seniors; she was a Sunday class member of The Path Class; she volunteered regularly working to get the church newsletters and other miscellaneous mailings out to church members; and she delivered Meals on Wheels.

As her siblings aged, needing increased care, she consistently visited them, helped feed them, and made sure all their needs were met.

Carolyn enjoyed pampering her flower gardens. She was always ready to “GO” and she found great joy in the company of her “Mayberry Kids”.

She was preceded in death by her parents, step father Ervin Schroeder; former husband Scotty Beavers; brother Weldon Cassady and wife Mary; sister Wilma Mullins and her husband Dale; sister Donna Knol and husband Jake; sister Marjorie Son and husband Leon; niece Dana Mullins; and the Love of her Life for over 45 years, Jack Farris.

Carolyn is survived by nephews and nieces Tom Cassady, Ron Cassady, Mark Knol, DeeAnn Burling, Larry Mullins, Gary Mullins, Telva Judd, Brad Knol, Holly Chambers and all their spouses; and numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews.

She will be remembered every day for her strong faith in God, her unconditional love for her family and many friends, her devotion to her canine companions – especially her beloved rescue dog Bella.  Carolyn spread her happiness every Christmas with her bags of homemade peanut brittle.

Her memory will live on in the hearts of ALL who know and love her.  A funeral service will be held at Church of the Servant, 14343 N. MacArthur Blvd., on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at 11:00A.M.
