Betty's Obituary

She was 92 years old.

Born in Southern California to Margaret and Lewis Ryser, she grew up in the area south of Los Angeles and spent most of her young life in Montebello California. She attended Montebello High School where she met her husband Robert M. Johnson, and they married on February 19, 1949. Bob and Betty bought their first home in Baldwin Park, where they started their family. They moved to Hacienda Heights California, where their children spent their youth years growing up. Robert, her husband of over 50 years, passed away in 2007, as well as parents and brothers and sister before her, she was the last of her family’s generation. In 1991, after Bob took ill, they moved to be near to their children, who had both located in Oklahoma City. Betty lived in the separate apartment behind Tim’s (son) house in Oklahoma City for over 33 years. Allowing her to be with family until her passing.

Betty is survived by Daughter Shirley Hatcher of Oklahoma City, Grandchildren Jim Alexander (wife Sarah), Michelle McDonald (husband Tim), Brian Alexander (wife Leti), Justin Hatcher (wife Jessica). Son, Timothy (wife Emma Louise) Johnson of Oklahoma City, Grandchildren Zachary Johnson, Jacob Johnson, Casey Johnson, Natalie Eakle (husband Cody), Tim Johnson (wife Abigail), Paul Johnson (wife Chelsy), and Duke Johnson (wife Cassidy).

She was blessed with 17 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great Great Granddaughter.

Her Memorial Service will take place at Britton Christian Church, 922 NW 91st St, Oklahoma City, Ok, on April 13, 2024, at 10 am.
