Aileen's Obituary


Aileen Faye (Waltner) Miller departed this life after 81 exciting years. Aileen was born in Newton, KS on August 6, 1941 and passed away September 23, 2022, in Edmond, Oklahoma. She grew up in Elyria, KS with her parents Milford and Ann, her brother Douglas and sisters Janice and Donna. Aileen graduated from McPherson High School in 1959. She was married to David "George" Miller on June 26, 1960 and together they had 5 children; David, Angela, Dwight. Rodney, and Julie.

      She was preceded in death by her parents, Milford and Ann (Goering) Waltner, her husband, David “George” Miller,  her sisters Janice Sevilla and Donna  Boesker and her children Angela Miller and Rodney Miller (1968).

      She is survived by her brother, Douglas Waltner, 3 children: David Miller (and Mary), Dwight Miller, and Julie Jackson (and Maurice Pittman), 7 grandchildren: Sharon (and Tommy) Wood, Crystal (and Paul) Mengers, Roxanne Miller, Rochelle (and Larry) James, Johnathan (and Amanda) Miller, Jessica (and Cindy) Miller, Jeff (and Caroline) Miller. They have blessed her with 14 great grandchildren: Destiny, Noelle, Benjamin, Day'Lynn, Annabelle, Danika, Jayden, Zane, Rayleigh,  Scarlett, Memphis, Sterling, Evan and Elias, and a host of brother and sister in- laws,  cousins, nieces, nephews and close friends.

      Aileen (with an "A") will be remembered as a supportive wife, caring mother, loving grandmother, and the warmest great grandmother “GG”, wonderful seamstress, unmatched baker, concert pianist/organist all while maintaining a full time career. She loved music, traveling, and family most of all. She retired from First American Title in 2010 making many long term friends. After retirement she would travel, engage in community activities, and spend as much time as possible with family. As soon as she heard a new great grandchild was expected she was ready to start working on a handmade blanket for the new bundle of joy.

      Aileen’s church family was always an important part of her life. She  and her husband were longtime members of Cross Timbers Church where she was a regular on the piano for many years. What a beautiful legacy. Memorial Service will be held at: Cross Timbers Church, 4201 E. Memorial Rd., Edmond, OK, 73013, Saturday, October 1, 2022 at 3:00 P.M.
