William's Obituary

William Roy Myatt passed away peacefully at the Oklahoma Veterans Center in Clinton, Oklahoma on Sunday July 31st, 2022. Bill, as many people knew him, was born January 5th, 1951 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was raised in the old town of Britton, Oklahoma and was a proud graduate of John Marshall High School in 1969. After high school Bill joined the Air Force and was an Integrated Avionics Systems Specialist where he served overseas in the Vietnam War. He loved his time working on the F-111 while overseas stationed primarily in Thakli, Thailand. After his service in the military Bill enrolled into college at Oklahoma State University. He graduated with a Bachelors in Engineering Technology while specializing in Electrical Engineering. After graduation he moved to Wichita, Kansas to start his career with Boeing. This is where he met his wife Deborah (later divorced). They had one child, William Roy Myatt Jr, or as the family calls him, little Bill. In his spare time Bill enjoyed fishing, building model trains, being a cub scout and boy scout leader, sharing stories from his time in the military, and most importantly being a great father figure to his son. In April of 2018 he welcomed his first grandson, Tate Michael Myatt, followed by his granddaughter, Lynnlee Jane Myatt, in September 2019. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and taught them how to make funny noises with their mouths to annoy their parents. He is preceded in death by his mother and father Margret Louise Myatt and Lee Roy Myatt of Oklahoma City, his brother Tommy Myatt of Edmond, OK and his cousin Bruce Conner of Lindsey, OK. He is survived by his son and daughter in-law William Roy Myatt Jr (Billy) and Kelly Myatt of Garden City, KS, his grandchildren Tate Michael Myatt and Lynnlee Jane Myatt of Garden City, KS, his sister and brother in-law Treva and Paul Davis of Oklahoma City, OK, his brother and sister in-law Walter and Kathy Myatt of Edmond, OK, and his sister in-law Frankie Myatt of Edmond, OK and 10 nieces and nephews.  Visitation will be on Thursday, Aug 4, from 9:00 to 5:00 at Demuth Funeral Home. Services will be held at Demuth Funeral Home on Friday, August 5, 2022 at 10:00 A.M.
