Mary's Obituary
Mary Helen Porterfield, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully at the age of 93 on July 7, 2026.
Born on February 13, 1933, on the grounds of the Arkansas diamond mine, Mary was a true gem—bright, resilient, and deeply treasured by all who knew her.
Mary was preceded in death by her loving daughter, Helen "Tina" Porterfield who passed in March 2022, and will have a glorious reunion with Mary. Many other family and friends are in heaven rejoicing with her.
She is survived by daughter, Rebecca, and son-in-law, Alan Glad. Mary was blessed with wonderful grandchildren who brought emmense joy to her life: Troy Williams, Cydni Williams, and grandson-in-law, Simon DeRuyscher. She was so proud of her three great-grandchildren: Kaden Cecelia, and Jameson.
Beyond her immediate family, Mary leaves behind a circle of deep, lifelong friendships.
Mary loved Dr. Daniel and Lucinda Rowe and family: Aya and Gary; Jacob and Dustin; Kellen; and Morgan and Kye. All held a special place in her heart.
Mary’s life was enriched by her boss, Rena Mason, who became a long-time, dearly-loved friend.
Mary shared a cherished kinship with Marilyn Wood, Shameika Kelso, and Destiny Brown. This bond represented four generations of friendships, deep love, great memories, and unwavering support.
Mary loved her neighbors, Joann and Joanell Bookman, long-time treasured friends with whom she shared many holidays and memories.
Mary lived at St Ann's and made beloved friends including Barbara Lowe and Jaunita Nabors. She became close to her nurses and care team: Vivian, Melody, Sister Sona, Vickie, Pat, Ruby, Barbara and others who were like family.
Mary lived a long, full life defined by her devotion to family and friends. Her memory will be forever in our hearts.
