Marva's Obituary

Marva Jeanette (Burdick) Jones was born December 5, 1942 to Lester & Lillian Burdick of Cashion, joining her sisters, Bonnie and Sandra and completing the family. 

Raised on the family farm near Reeding Road, she attended and graduated from Cashion School. She and her sisters would tell stories of playing on the creek and “mowing” their homes into the lawn. 

After graduation, she attended Draughon’s Business School in Oklahoma City. 

After meeting the love of her life, Kenneth Jones of Bokchito, OK, they married January 26, 1962. 

They had three children, a son, Lester Loay in December, 1962, followed by daughter, Kathryn Marie in 1966 and finally, Kenna Jeanette in 1976. 

She loved her children and child-minded many children in Cashion. Family, reading, and gardening were her favorite things to do. 

She is preceded in death by her loving parents, Lester & Lillian, her beloved son, Lester Loay Jones, & her sister, Sandra Blehm. 

Surviving her is husband, Kenneth of the home in Cashion, her daughter, Kathryn and son in-law Craig Derr of Cashion, their children, Justine Kathryn & her husband, Craig Hamilton of Guthrie, Corbin William-Loay & his wife, Ashlee Derr of Cashion, and daughter, Kenna Jones of Cashion. 

Sister, Bonnie Mallett now residing in Tucson AZ. 

Two great granddaughters, Treece Hamilton and Logan Derr and one great grandson, Jackson Derr. 

Nieces Sheryl, Lynn, Tammy and Tracey. 

A memorial service will be held at the United Methodist Church on Wednesday October 25, 2023 at 2:00 P.M.. Vistitaion will be available from 10:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. on Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at Demuth Funeral Home.
