Kathy's Obituary

Kathy Anne Taylor Spivey was born in Blanchard, Oklahoma on October 2, 1958. She was the daughter of L.D. and Le Anna Taylor. On May 26, 2023, our beloved Kathy passed away peacefully into God’s graces with her family by her side. Kathy graduated from Dribble Junior-Senior High School in 1976. That same year she married the love of her life, Mike Spivey, on Nov. 14, 1976. They were married 47 years. To this union they were blessed with 3 children, 6 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter. Kathy worked alongside her husband in their insulation business, Spivey Insulation. She took great joy in her family and friends.

Kathy passionately advocated for people with disabilities. In her lifetime she worked with 3 governor boards to promote equality for all.

She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter Leslie Anne in 2000, parents L.D. and Le Anna, her paternal grandparents John and Mae Taylor and maternal grandparents Leonard and Mattalee Wells, her sister Linda in 1966, brother Gary in 1986, brother Terry in 2021, and brother Roger in 2023.

Survived by: Husband Mike Spivey, their sons Jay Spivey, wife Brandy, and their children Kayse, Kaleb, and Kadence, and great-granddaughter Braylee; and Kevin Spivey, his son Kade, his wife Lindsey, and their children, Madison, and Jaxon; Brother Danny, Sisters Carol and Cheryl, along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Kathy had a strong belief in God that gave her strength and courage to the very end, and had an endless, unconditional love for her family and friends. She was a caring, loving wife, mom, grandmother, and great-grandmother who touched many. Her loving care and friendship will be missed.

The Celebration of Life will be held on June 3, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. at Dibble Middle School Gymnasium (22092 Old Town 2nd St., Dibble, OK 73010)
