Joyce's Obituary
Joyce Clark, 89, passed away on May 28, 2023 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Joyce was born on November 9, 1933, in the same city to Francis Virginia Rosecrans and Alva Walter Rosecrans. She had an older sister who didn’t survive childbirth. Joyce grew up in the Britton area and graduated from John Marshall High School in 1951. Joyce was a cheerleader for three years and lettered in tennis as a junior. She has been a lifelong member of Britton Christian Church. She married JC Clark in 1951 and they divorced in 1995. They remained friends until JC passed away in 2013.
Joyce began her working career working for WKY radio in the 1950s and worked there for 29 years. She completed her career by working for Lamar Outdoor Advertising in Oklahoma City, OK for almost 20 years. Joyce worked full time until her retirement from Lamar at age 80. During her years at WKY radio she did a handful of television commercials on WKY TV promoting the TV and radio station operations. She was usually singing in these TV commercials and had a lovely voice.
Joyce had a passion for volunteering at her church and assisting seniors and others who needed any kind of help. Most of all she loved being with her family and friends of which she had plenty.
Joyce is survived by her two sons, Chris Clark and wife Liz and Jay Clark and his wife Patty. Her grandchildren included Thomas Ross Clark, Derek Christopher Clark, William Brooks Clark, and twins Cole James Clark and Keely Ann Clark. She also had three great grandchildren Sloane Sophia Clark, Penelope Rose Clark and Ari Zachary Clark. She also had two wonderful granddaughters-in-law, Renee Clark and Taylor Clark.
A memorial service will be held at Britton Christian Church on Wednesday June 28th at 1:00 PM. The address of the church is 922 NW 91st St. In Oklahoma City, OK. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer's Drug Development Foundation would be appreciated, where 100% of donations go toward scientific research.
