James' Obituary

James Winston Hardin departed this life at the age of 81, on Sept. 12, 2021 at his home in Edmond, OK.  He battled Parkinson’s disease since 2015.

James was born July 18, 1940 to William Elmer Hardin and Georgia Lucille Driver Hardin of Watertown, TN.  He graduated from Watertown High School in 1958.  He continued his education at Fort Wayne Business College in Indiana where he received his associates degree in Business.  He married Vicki Ann Evans on Sept. 24, 1960 and they began their married life in Elkhart, Indiana where he worked a 42 year career at Miles Laboratory, as an inventory control manager.

In 2007 he and Vicki moved to Edmond, OK to be closer to their children and 2 granddaughters. He is survived by his wife Vicki of almost 61 years.  His son Troy Hardin and his wife Sherri.  His daughter Kellie and her husband Tom Demuth. His granddaughter Pali and her husband Thorne Stallings.  And granddaughter Paden Demuth.  Also, he has two sisters, Virginia McDonald of Lebanon, TN and Marie McFalls of Woodstock, GA, along with several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Donna Peach.

Jim was an active member of the Church of Christ and being a servant for Christ was his life’s mission.  Over the years he went on mission trips.  He took part in Friend Speak.  And one of his greatest joys was his volunteer work he did with the TV program In Search of the Lords Way. Jim was generous with his time and concern for others and he will be greatly remembered and missed.

Funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 16, 2021 at 10:00 AM in the Edmond Church of Christ Chapel, 801 S. Bryant Ave., Edmond, OK. Burial will take place at Memorial Park Cemetery, Oklahoma City, OK.
