Douglas' Obituary

Douglas Edward McCleary, age 61, civil engineer and resident of Oklahoma City passed away on April 22, 2024. He was born on September 17, 1962 in Los Angeles, California to Urie McCleary and Barbara Gaskill. He grew up in Hacienda Heights, where he developed interests in skiing, woodworking, and fishing.

Doug will be remembered for always finding a way to make a joke, for being a hard worker, and for his love for his children and grandchild. He founded his own engineering firm, dedicated his work to small towns throughout the state of Oklahoma, and enjoyed cooking family meals with his smoker.

He is survived by his son Bryce Malone McCleary and son-in-law Christopher Malone McCleary, daughter Makenzie McCleary, daughter Maddisen McCleary, son Blake McCleary, granddaughter Aailyah McCleary, sister Catherine “Cam” Ledger and brother-in-law Earl Ledger, niece Kate Sanchez, and nephew Steven Ledger. He is preceded by his brother Steven, his mother Barbara, and his father Urie.

Doug will be dearly missed by all who knew him, but his memory lives on in those who called him family, those whose lives he touched, and those whose smiles he drew out.

A memorial service will be held at noon on Saturday, April 27 at Chisholm Creek Event Center in Edmond, Oklahoma.
