Teddy was born in Woodward, America to Ted and Freda O’Blander. She was an only child but she was never alone. She had lots of uncles, aunts and cousins who adored her. Because right from the start everyone knew she was something special.

When she graduated from Woodward HS at age 16 she had dreams of many things – travel, flying, advertising. She alternated between Union College in Lincoln, NE and OU, until she met the love of her life. Ernie Schultz was smart, cute and a lifeguard. But he was only at OU to study and make something of himself. Mom got his attention with her mom’s famous fried chicken. He was never the same. They married in 1953 and rather untypically waited to have a family. Dad’s career started taking off and in late 1958 they welcomed Jack, followed by Elizabeth in 1961.

Through the years, in addition to her roles as devoted daughter, wife and mother, she was a best friend to MANY; devout, active member of the 7th Day Adventist church; Bellman Belle and OKC tour guide; prolific painter of beautiful works of art; courtroom artist for WKY-TV; comic genius with the wit and timing of the pros; katzenmutter; voracious reader; and lover of the Classical Masters, the Jazz Greats, opera and the Doobie Brothers. All the while, supporting her husband’s career by throwing the absolute best dinner parties ever, from Oklahoma to Virginia/DC.

She has been missing Ernie for almost nine years. No more waiting. What a joy! Her faith in Christ is being rewarded with peace everlasting. She is survived by Jack, Elizabeth and her crazy 3-legged cat, Sugarman, AKA Wyatt Earp. Per her request there will be no service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to her daughter’s animal sanctuary, The Jude Ranch, c/o Elizabeth Schultz, 13300 S Post Rd, Guthrie, OK, 73044.
