TERRY, Myrna Joy (76) of Bethany, Oklahoma died September 18 ^th , 2025 in Oklahoma City. Born August 12, 1949 in Garden City, Kansas to Wesley and Omah Lewis. She spent her childhood in Kermit, Texas and Johnson City, Kansas. As a teenager, she played clarinet in the band, and graduated from Stanton County High School 1967. She eventually settled in the Oklahoma City area, moving to Yukon in 1977. While raising two sons, she worked as a dental assistant, coached soccer and played in an adult recreational league. She later pursued her education at El Reno Junior College, earning an academic scholarship to the University of Oklahoma. She earned both bachelor's and master's degrees at OU while working as a teaching assistant in statistics. Myrna worked until retirement as a professional counselor for Canadian County, in private practice, and for Northcare, in Oklahoma City. In her later years, she enjoyed sculpting, crochet, and charitable giving of her time. She donated the blankets she crocheted to local children in need, and frequently found a family to sponsor for Christmas. She is survived by her sons Guy (Sharon) Terry of Little Elm, Texas, Bryan (Sarah) Terry of Edmond, Oklahoma, and granddaughters Olivia and Emma, also of Little Elm, Texas. A memorial will be held at Charleston's (5608 W Memorial Rd. Oklahoma City) October 4th, 4- 6pm.
