Mary's Obituary

Mary Lou Parks, born August 16, 1942, in Vernon, TX to Duard Liles and Mary Ellen Liles Grubbs passed away after battling cancer. She is now feeling no more pain and in the arms of her one true love, Don and with the Lord. They met at a football game at the age of 15 and remained together until his passing January 20, 2009. They were inseparable. They had 3 daughters that were their world. Susie (Don) San Antonio, TX that preceded her in death, Donna (Bill) Thorne Guthrie, Oklahoma, Barbara (Tom) Handsome Jacksonville, FL. Grandchildren, Roselyn, Don Allen, Robert, and Amanda, Debra & Hollie, Kristi, Brittani and Taran. She also had several great grandchildren. She was an Eastern Star at the Britton Lodge #434. She worked for Skaggs Albertsons in the Bakery for over 10 years but after her & Dad bought their station, Britton Phillips 66, in 1983, she did the books for Dad. She loved hunting & fishing and traveling as long as she was with Dad. She loved animals, especially all of her dogs throughout the years. In recent years after the passing of their last beagle Rufus she began feeding all the cats in the neighborhood (and a few raccoons, Ha! Ha!) She was also preceded in death by her parents and stepfather Earl Grubbs, 2 brothers Clint & Clifton and both sister in laws, Sandra and Doris. Cremation will be with Demuth Funeral Home. Services pending.
