Mendenhall, James (Jim) V.
Jim entered this life on March 10 1955 in Lake Charles LA and passed away on April 5 2025 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 70.
He was an avid student and excelled in everything he did. Woodworking was a hobby he enjoyed and made several pieces during his life.
He graduated from OU with a Bachelor of Science and Laboratory Technology degree in 1976. He graduated from OU with a degree in Doctor of Medicine, June 1983. He was awarded a degree of Anesthesiology from OU in June, 1986 and did his Fellowship in Anesthesiology at OU completing in July, 1987. He was accepted into the American Board of Anesthesiology in July, 1988. Some of his other medical education included a degree of Resident Physician of Iowa, 1983, a degree as Resident Physician of Ohio in May, 1988, He earned a degree from the Ohio Medical Board in May of 1983, the State Board of Medicine and Surgery in Montana, December 1988. In his later years he practiced Anesthesiology in Illinois, Oklahoma, Ohio, Iowa, and Montana. He was passionate about being a doctor and helping others. Jim saved many lives in his 42 years of practice.
Jim is survived by the love of his life, Rosa Essary of Oklahoma City OK, one son, BJ Mendenhall of Champagne IL, one step-son Aaron of St. Louis, Missouri, Kevin Essary of Moore and Robert Essary of Choctaw OK. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren.
Jim and Rosa had a long relationship after meeting when Rosa was 15 and Jim was 16. Both went their separate ways after college and reunited 14 years ago. He was her first kiss and her last kiss. He will greatly missed.
