Pat's Obituary

George Russell "Pat" Kelly was born April 29, 1933 and died peacefully in his sleep on May 26, 2024.  He lived most of his life in Oklahoma City, attending Horace Mann Elementary School, Harding Junior High and Classen High School where he graduated in 1951.  After graduation he went to work at Liberty National Bank.  After one year at the bank, he enrolled at Oklahoma City University and worked part time at the bank while attending school.  While at OCU he was a walk on for the varsity basketball team and he also played one year on the varsity baseball team.  He played for Abe Lemons and Paul Hansen.  He was then drafted into U. S. Army and was assigned to the 9th Ordinance Battalion.  When he returned home, he returned to work at Liberty Bank where he worked for 43 years.  He then worked at Bankers Bank until his retirement.  He met Beverly Oliver and they were married in 1959.  They have two daughters, Tracy Holden (Mark) and Patti Brett (John).  He was preceded in death by his parents and sister.  He leaves behind his wife of 65 years, his daughters and their spouses, five grandchildren and one great grand child.  The family would like to thank his Friday lunch buddy of many years, John Koch, for his special friendship.  They would also like to mention all his racquet ball friends, who meant so much to him.  He loved his Tuesday lunches with those men. A memorial service is being held at Demuth Funeral Home on Friday, May 31, 2024 at 10:00 A.M.
