Amber's Obituary
Amber Lynn (Brown) Marcha Guthrie - Amber Marcha, 52, of Guthrie, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully and surrounded by family on Feb. 11, 2021, in Oklahoma City after a long battle with cancer. Amber was born March 27, 1968, in Oklahoma City to Sally and Larry Brown. She graduated from Bethany High School in 1986 and earned her associate's degree from Oklahoma City Community College in 2000. She married Dennis Marcha in 2007, was a member of the Southern Hills Christian Church in Edmond, and worked for over 20 years in the mortgage industry, lately at Caliber Home Loans. Amber was known for her infectious, full-body laugh, and she was a dogged researcher with an interest in the law. She liked music with a meaning, and she was a competitive ballroom dancer in her 20s. She also loved horses and the color red. Amber is survived by her husband; her child, Koda Marcha of Edmond; stepson, Justin Marcha of Edmond, OK; brother, Josh (Susan) O'Brien of Overland Park, KS; sister Eden (Phillip) Manning of Oklahoma City; nephews, Evan O'Brien of Irving, TX, and Spencer O'Brien of Parsons, KS; niece, Samantha Manning of Los Angeles, CA; stepmother, Deanie Brown; of Bethany; and numerous extended family members and friends. Amber was preceded in death by her parents. A Celebration of Life will be held on Amber's birthday, March 27, at the Southern Hills Christian Church. Please check her Facebook page for time and COVID-19 information. Memorials may be sent to the American Cancer Society , the Melanoma Research Foundation, Villa Lobos Rescue Center, or any local animal shelter. The family would like to thank the staff at Integris Hospice House for their loving care, the people at Caliber for their generosity, their church family, and Gwen Jaques and Stephanie Wallace.
