Mary Ann Beck Shirley, 86, of Del City, Oklahoma passed away peacefully on April 14, 2026 in the comfort of her home. She was born on December 8, 1939, in Utica, Mississippi, to Clarence and Mary Beck.
Mary was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 47 years, Richard Shirley; her parents, two brothers, and her daughter-in-law.
Mary is survived by her children, Neal Dillard and Wanda Dillard; her step-sons, Doug (Annie) Shirley and Steve (DeeDee) Shirley; as well as six grandchildren, Katie (David), Connie (Dustin), Philip (Hannah), James (Brooke), Derek (Claire) and Jana, and eleven great-grandchildren who were the pride and joy of her life.
Mary had a deep love for creativity. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, learning new crafts, and working on puzzles, always keeping her hands and heart busy.
Mary was also an active member of her community and church. Mary participated in her local crocheting club, quilting club, and women's Bible study group. She attended Tinker Chapel at Tinker Air Force Base, where she formed lasting friendships rooted in her strong faith and love for the Lord.
Mary was especially fond of cardinals or "red birds," as she lovingly called them— and could often be found wearing clothing or jewelry adorned with them, a symbol that will forever remind her family of her presence.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, While her absence leaves a void, her family finds comfort in knowing she has been welcomed into Heaven and is now at peace in the presence of the Lord.
